M118S — Cinema Subwoofer

The M118S is a passive cinema subwoofer in the M Series for the LFE channel in commercial auditoriums. It comprises a single 18″ low-frequency driver (99 mm voice coil) in a shallow MDF bass-reflex enclosure with a PVC laminate finish, with a 38 Hz–500 Hz response (±3 dB), 27 Hz usable at −10 dB and an 8 Ω nominal load — intended where screen-wall depth is restricted but the 18″ driver size is still required.

At 100 dB sensitivity and a 600 W AES 100-hour rating it produces a 127.8 dB rated maximum SPL on a continuous basis. A 140 Hz low-pass is recommended for integration, with a 27 Hz high-pass protecting the driver. The 831 × 560 × 395 mm cabinet weighs 40 kg net; its 395 mm depth and weight suit placement in the limited space behind the screen.
