Cinema Power Amplifier
The AM400 / AM600 / AM800 / AM1000 are four power levels on one amplification platform in Class H with two-channel output, powering the low-frequency and mid/high modules of active-crossover screen channels as well as surround channels and subwoofers.
Screen channels · Surround channels · Subwoofers (LFE) · Rack installations where space is limited
Features
- All four share one amplification platform and protection design, stepping only in output power and voltage gain, so levels can be mixed per channel.
- 225 mm chassis depth and 9.2–13.3 kg net weight — more units fit in one rack, suiting racks limited in depth or load capacity.
- Both speakON and red-black binding posts on the outputs, making wiring straightforward and speaker-cable changes quicker, cutting on-site labour and maintenance time.
- Large filter reservoir with intelligent temperature-controlled fan cooling and an independent cooling path per channel.
- XLR female / male inputs; short-circuit, no-load, power on/off noise and RF interference protection circuits.
- 220 V supply; uniform 2U (88 mm) rack height.
- A toroidal transformer for longer service life and greater stability, with equipment and installation costs easier to control.
Overview
The AM400 / AM600 / AM800 / AM1000 are four power levels on one amplification platform in Class H with two-channel output, powering the low-frequency and mid/high modules of active-crossover screen channels as well as surround channels and subwoofers. All four share one amplification platform and protection design, with a 225 mm chassis depth and both speakON and red-black binding posts.
The 225 mm chassis depth and 9.2–13.3 kg net weight let more units sit in one rack, which helps where rack depth or load capacity is limited; the binding posts keep on-site wiring and speaker-cable changes straightforward. Either power level can be selected directly against a loudspeaker’s nominal impedance and power rating.

- 1Output power figures are continuous (RMS) outputs at the stated impedance. An amplifier’s continuous output should be at least the AES 100-hour rating of the loudspeaker it drives, and its output at the matching impedance should not exceed the loudspeaker’s program power, to avoid clipping and driver damage (see the relevant loudspeaker specification sheet).
- 2THD, signal-to-noise ratio and damping factor are measured under the manufacturer’s test conditions; readings taken under different conventions are not directly comparable. Figures shown without a model split are common to all models.
- 32 Ω loads are not recommended. The minimum load in bridged mode is 8 Ω. Rack installation must leave the front and rear airflow paths clear, and the temperature rise inside the rack must stay within the equipment’s permitted ambient range (operating temperature 0–50 °C).
- 4⚠️ Parameters on this page are taken from the R&D-revised specification workbook. Where a later R&D revision differs, the latest revision prevails.
