Cinema Power Amplifier
The A400 / A600 / A800 / A1200 are four power levels on one amplification platform in Class H with two-channel output, powering the low-frequency and mid/high modules of active-crossover screen channels as well as surround channels and subwoofers.
Screen channels · Surround channels · Subwoofers (LFE) · Rack-based multi-channel drive
Features
- Class H analog amplification with independent two-channel output, giving each post-crossover channel a low-coloration drive stage.
- All four share one amplification platform and connector set, stepping only in output power and voltage gain, so levels can be mixed per channel in one rack.
- Parallel / stereo / bridged operation; bridged mode drives a high-power subwoofer from a single channel.
- Large filter reservoir with intelligent temperature-controlled fan cooling and an independent cooling path per channel.
- XLR male / female inputs and speakON outputs; short-circuit, no-load, power on/off noise and RF interference protection circuits.
- 220 V supply; uniform 2U (88 mm) rack height and 360 mm depth.
- Analog design with a toroidal transformer for longer service life and greater stability, balancing performance and cost.
Overview
The A400 / A600 / A800 / A1200 are four power levels on one amplification platform in Class H with two-channel output, powering the low-frequency and mid/high modules of active-crossover screen channels as well as surround channels and subwoofers. All four share the same connectors, operating modes and protection design, differing only in output power and voltage gain.
The four levels cover 350–1200 W per channel into 8 Ω and 700–2400 W into 4 Ω, or up to 3600 W bridged on a single channel, so a model can be selected directly against a loudspeaker’s nominal impedance and power rating. All four are 360 mm deep, so levels may be mixed within one rack to match each channel’s actual requirement.

- 1Output power figures are continuous (RMS) outputs at the stated impedance. An amplifier’s continuous output should be at least the AES 100-hour rating of the loudspeaker it drives, and its output at the matching impedance should not exceed the loudspeaker’s program power, to avoid clipping and driver damage (see the relevant loudspeaker specification sheet).
- 2THD, signal-to-noise ratio and damping factor are measured under the manufacturer’s test conditions; readings taken under different conventions are not directly comparable. Figures shown without a model split are common to all models.
- 32 Ω loads are not recommended. The minimum load in bridged mode is 8 Ω. Rack installation must leave the front and rear airflow paths clear, and the temperature rise inside the rack must stay within the equipment’s permitted ambient range (operating temperature 0–50 °C).
- 4⚠️ Parameters on this page are taken from the R&D-revised specification workbook. Where a later R&D revision differs, the latest revision prevails.
